Abstract:

Complete instructions for using the drugs the patient is ensure successful treatment, prevention of side effects, and reliability in their use.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the respect of providing full instructions for use of medicines in pharmacies.

The research method is based on collecting information through pharmacies and health institutions in Kosovo primary and secondary concerning guidelines for drugs to be given to the patient in the period 2010-2015.

Object of research were 170 pharmacies and 74 medical institutions. The results obtained show that in 67% of cases in a pharmacy guidelines are pruned and expressed in numbers without specifying fully mode of use, the time of receipt, the effects of unwanted, the possible incompatibility with other drugs and food duration of use, ways of beginning and termination of use etc. The results speak for staff unwillingness to give instructions without the request of the patient, but also disinterest patient receiving full instructions.

Finally we can conclude that providing instructions for the patient is incomplete and in some cases concern. The independent professional institutions related should continuing professional education, with emphasis on the information to be given to the patient, intensive supervision and pressure on pharmacies, in order to fully comply with the full giving instructions to drugs used, while providing safer patient treatment and prevention of undesired effects.
