Abstract:
Psycho-motor development is one of the most important components in establishing the well development and upbringing of a child, but unfortunately, in our country by parents and educators, even by health professionals, following the ongoing physical development has the primary importance and evaluation of psycho-motor development of preschool children is sporadic and intuitive.
This workshop aims to present the recommended screening methods by contemporary researchers of this field: Age & Stage Questionnaires, edition 3 (ASQ-3). Using this screening method solves the two main problems of the current evaluation of psychomotor development of children, first reduces intuition and subjectivity of clinical observation by assessing psychometric domains, and secondly provides quantified monitoring of the child development through psychomotor monitoring charts, found in the test booklet ASQ-3.
Key words:
ASQ-3, psycho-motor development, monitoring charts.
